MISSION STATEMENT

To engage with all members of the community, and connect them with support if required.

How the Centre started

Leichhardt Community Group Inc was originally established in 1984 to provide a means of assistance to those wives who had husbands serving in the RAAF. It provided them a safe place to meet with their children and support each other while their husbands were away on duty. Later the service was expanded to include the all members of the local community in and around the suburbs of Leichhardt, One Mile and Wulkuraka and has continued to provide this support and welfare services ever since. The range of services provided by the centre now aims to include programs that are relevant to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

The Centre into the future

The lifeblood of the Centre and the key to its continued success are the volunteers who donate their time to contribute to the daily operations of the centre.  The Centre welcomes interest from anyone in becoming part of the team of dedicated individuals who currently support the centre and there is a wide and varied range of duties for people to take part in. Additionally, the Leichhardt Community Group Inc. is always looking for members to bring their enthusiasm and new ideas into the running of the centre. For only $5 a year members will receive a range of benefits and anyone who is interested can ‘Contact Us’ for more information.
